Brian Goldstein is a historian of the American built environment and assistant professor of architectural history at Swarthmore College. His work examines the intersection of architecture and urbanism, race and class, and social and political movements. His book, The Roots of Urban Renaissance: Gentrification and the Struggle Over Harlem, was published by Harvard University Press in 2017. His work has also appeared in the Journal of American History, Journal of Urban History, and the edited collections Reassessing Rudolph, Affordable Housing in New York, and Summer in the City: John Lindsay, New York, and the American Dream.
