Using definitions from anti-trans legislation and canonical feminist theories of architecture, this essay identifies a foundational exclusion of trans* bodies and behavior resulting from the ideologies of labor and materiality guiding contemporary Western Architectural production. The essay then reads contemporary trans theories of nature to search for concepts and methods that open possibilities for new forms of practice centered around labor reorganization and anti-extractionist thinking rather than around form and representation. The essay concludes by aligning with other trans* theoretical practices that follow the desires generated in the critique and specifies their relationship to transmaterialist architectures.
