Toma Plejić: STUDIO UP began when we won the Gymnasium competition in 2003 (Figure 1, Figure 2). We were 26 at that time, two years out of school. The brief for that competition was rebellious, our response to the competition brief was brutal. We made a mistake, a productive mistake, by combining the gymnasium and sport hall into one mono-volume and we proposed to wrap the whole structure in polycarbonate.
