The epistemological and methodological limitations imposed on architecture by divergent considerations of form and energy provoke fresh questions about causality and formation in architecture. As a core matter of architectural production, this article considers how the role of intensive and extensive properties of buildings can establish one alternative basis for the formal propensities of architecture’s energetics in the aftermath of sustainability.
