Aformal Academy was initiated by Merve Bedir and Jason Hilgefort as a response to an exhibition invitation by the curators of Urbanism and Architecture Biennale Shenzhen and Hong Kong in 2015. We proposed to engage with Shenzhen and the region, taking the city as the site of both our inhabitation and experimentation.
